When I first came across this egg, I just assumed it had fallen out of the nest and the baby robin didn’t make it. I snapped three shots (watching for mama bird to dive-bomb me) from the same angle and went on my way. When I pulled the pictures off my camera, I got a surprise – there was a different part of the little guy visible in each photo. One showed a tiny blurred foot sticking through the hole in the egg, the other had a bit of fluff. This was the best of the three.
What a marvelous find ;–)

How incredible. Always fun to see what comes up when uploading photos. But were you a teeny bit mad you didn’t see it before and stay to watch?
