Happy one year anniversary to Today’s Flowers!

I took this photo at Hilton Park. The flowers look similar to phlox but I believe this is a Sweet Rocket (or Dame’s Rocket). (Please correct me if I’m wrong!)

I love this picture. The purple is so nice. I thought it was Dame’s Rocket too but that seed pod doesn’t look like it. Maybe it is a different specis of Hesperis.

With just this one image, you have captured the life cycle of this one flower: bud, bloom, seed. The depth of field is delicious as is the clarity.

I have no idea of the name of this flower, but the seed pod looks similar to that of a rambling geranium – not that this be a geranium!

I’ve never heard of Sweet Rocket, but it reminded me of Sweet William (though the color isn’t quite right). It’s beautiful no matter what it’s called.
