Meytre Grist Mill House – Valdese, NC

Last week I posted a photo of McGalliard Creek for Watery Wednesday. Carletta wondered what the view is like from the other side of the railed fence. So, my camera and I went back this afternoon (as if I need a reason!) Here is the view of the grist mill house from the fence. You can’t see the mill in this photo but I will post it later this week.

Very beautiful scene! It looks like an old mill I’ve visited in this area in Southeast Missouri.

What a tranquil setting. The poem describes it well. We have an old Grist Mill near Princeton, N.J. that is painted red and is along the Delaware & Raritan canal.

This reminds me of things WAY out in the country near where I grew up. Being in the desert, this is a completely foreign, and intriguing, site to me now!
